Shrewsbury Lourdes Pilgrimage |

When completing your booking form will you kindly note the following;

You will see that additional information is required this year. The UK Border Agency requires us to provide them with the passport details of each individual travelling with the pilgrimage.  We are also required to provide the number and expiry date of your European Health Insurance card to our insurers.

Please ensure that these details are completed before sending the booking form to us. We will be unable to accept bookings until all the necessary information is provided. If your passport or EHIC is due to expire before the pilgrimage please apply for renewal as quickly as possible. Passports should be valid for at least 3 months (6 months for non EU residents) after the return date.

VOLUNTEER HELPERS

If you wish to offer your services as a helper please note the following;

All helpers over 18 years of age are required to hold valid CRB and Diocesan Volunteer Application approvals. Helpers aged between 16 and 18 years need only the Diocesan Volunteer approvals.

If you were validated for both forms for the 2009 pilgrimage these will be accepted for 2010. New volunteers aged 18+ must complete both applications for this year. If you were a helper last year but have now reached 18 years age you need to submit a CRB form. Any person who holds both clearances from Shrewsbury Diocese for any parish ministry is not required to submit new applications.

Both forms are available from the Diocesan Safeguarding Office, Diocesan Curial Offices, 2 Park Road South, Prenton, Wirral CH43 4UX. Telephone 0151 652 9855. Please ask for either Anna Wise or Alison Brady.

If you have any cautions, warnings or convictions please discuss these in strict confidence with Pauline Butterfield, Diocesan Safeguarding Co-ordinator, on 0151 652 9855 before submitting your booking.

Registration for the new ISA regulations, effective from 26 July 2010, is not required for the 2010 pilgrimage.

BOOKING DEADLINE FOR HELPERS

Personalised name badges will clearly identify all helpers who have received the necessary clearances. In order to allow time for references to be taken, names to be checked by the Safeguarding Office, badges to be printed, travel packs to be assembled and posted, booking forms from volunteers must be received by the Pilgrimage Office NO LATER THAN 30th APRIL. If bookings are sent too late for the name badges to identify approved volunteers then those people will not be permitted to assist with the sick pilgrims.

MEDICAL TEAM – DIRECT PHONE NUMBER

The phone number shown on the brochure is for bookings and general enquiries. All medical matters are strictly confidential so there is a dedicated phone number for direct contact to the Medical Team – 07970 943940. They will be pleased to help with any medical queries you may have. The pilgrimage doctors and nurses all work full time in the healthcare profession so if you are asked to leave a message on the answerphone be assured they will call you back at the earliest opportunity.
