In addition to the following guidelines please note that volunteers whose CRB disclosures were completed prior to 2010 are required to renew them if they wish to take part in the 2012 pilgrimage. Forms are available from Anna or Alison at the address and phone number shown below. To allow time for processing, forms must be submitted to the Safeguarding Office before the end of April.
If you wish to offer your services as a helper please note the following;
All helpers over 18 years of age are required to hold valid Criminal Record Bureau and Diocesan Volunteer Application approvals. Helpers aged between 16 and 18 years need Volunteer Application approvals only.
New volunteers aged 18+ must complete both applications. If you were a helper last year but have now reached 18 years age you need to submit a CRB form. Any person who holds both clearances from Shrewsbury Diocese for any parish ministry is not required to submit new applications. Please note that if you already possess a CRB disclosure from another organisation you are still required to complete a form from Shrewsbury Diocese, as we are a different registered body.
CRB forms are available from the Diocesan Safeguarding Office, Diocesan Curial Offices, 2 Park Road South, Prenton, Wirral CH43 4UX. Telephone 0151 652 9855. Please ask for either Anna Wise or Alison Brady. Diocesan Volunteer Application forms can be downloaded from this website.
If you are, or have been, the subject of any safeguarding concern or issue , or have any cautions, warnings or convictions please discuss these with Pauline Butterfield, Diocesan Safeguarding Co-ordinator, on 0151 652 9855 before submitting your booking. All details contained in a volunteer's CRB disclosure will be held in strict confidence by the Safeguarding Office.
Young helpers who are part of a parish or college group are also required to submit Code of Conduct and Parental Consent Forms. These will normally be provided by the Group Leader but will be available for downloading here soon.
